About the ADA Room Sign
Signs that identify a permanent room or space — an office, a conference room, a classroom, a stairwell, a mechanical room — must be tactile (ADA §216.2): raised uppercase sans-serif characters at least 5/8 inch tall, with contracted (Grade 2) braille directly below. This builder sets the room number and name to the §703.2 proportions, places the braille below each at the Table 703.3.1 dot and cell spacing, and can add a pictogram in its own 6-inch field. A small non-tactile note line (for example STAFF ONLY) is optional. meta.brailleText shows the braille as Unicode so it can be proofread.
