About the Accessible Parking Sign
Accessible parking spaces are identified by a sign with the International Symbol of Accessibility mounted at least 60 inches above the ground (ADA §502.6), and van-accessible spaces add the words VAN ACCESSIBLE. The standard design is the MUTCD R7-8: RESERVED PARKING in green over the symbol on a blue square, on a 12 × 18-inch sign, with the R7-8P VAN ACCESSIBLE plaque below. Add an arrow for the direction of the spaces and a penalty plaque — the wording and fine amount are set by your state.
